The Rubicon 2024 Ultramarathon kicked off at 9:00 am on March 22, under the Arc de Triomphe in Chișinău, and concluded at 1:00 pm on March 24, at the National Sports Complex 'Arcul de Triumf' in Bucharest. This unique cross-border event, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the National Sports Agency of Romania, marks a remarkable achievement.
The Rubicon 2024 followed a daring route, spanning 46 stages across 5 districts in the Republic of Moldova and 5 counties in Romania. Participants collectively covered a distance of 478 kilometers, in a journey lasting 52 hours. Athletes received exceptional support from supporters on both sides of the Prut River, greeted and cheered on by people from Ialoveni, Cahul, Gagauzia, Cimișlia, Galați, Brăila, the village of Pogoanele in Buzău, Ilfov, and Bucharest.
This successful event, organized by the SPORTER Sports Club and co-organized by the Triathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova, represented a unique opportunity for athletes to test their limits and experience the joy of running. While the atmosphere fostered mutual encouragement and camaraderie, each participant had the chance to experience the fulfillment and personal satisfaction of their journey.
The route was meticulously planned and secured, ensuring the safety of all participants. The organizing team worked closely with local authorities and other relevant institutions to ensure the efficient and professional management of the event.
