Rubicon is an ultramarathon like no other in the world. You decide what distance to run, what time of day to run it and how many medals to take home! You don't have to worry about the pace you run, your pack of snacks and drinking water.
Rubicon aims to unleash the inner potential of each participant and show them what they are truly capable of. It is a test not only for the body but also for the spirit. Where everyone gives up, we keep running, because Rubicon participants never give up, no matter the circumstances.
An important task of the ultramarathon is to unite the whole of Moldova. In three years, participants cross the country from north to south, west to east, on both sides of the Dniester River, taking the relay from one district to another.
The month in which the Rubicon competition takes place was not chosen at random. In February, the harshest possible weather conditions become an important element of the endurance test. Will you be able to run at night, at -10°C, when your muscles are already stiff and the cold wind is relentlessly blowing in your face?

THE RUBICON 2023 ROUTE
The entire route is divided into 51 stages, and each district of Moldova will have from 1 to 7 stages. In order to win a district medal, runners must complete at least one stage in that district. But ultramarathon runners are not restricted to a minimum or maximum number of stages — it is up to the participants to decide and shape their own race strategy and tactics.

AWARDS FOR THE HEROES OF THE RUBICON 2023 EDITION
Rubicon is not a single race. The competition consists of dozens of stages, in which participants cover several kilometers, which is why this event is marked with special medals — the coats of arms of the districts the athletes cross.
Day and night medals
Medals are divided into "day" and "night" depending on the time of day the stage is completed.
Medals for 100 km
Once the 100 km distance has been reached, the participant receives an additional medal with the "Rubicon" logo.
Medals with the coat of arms of the district
For passing from one stage in the district, the participant receives one badge with the coat of arms of the district.
The more such medals the ultramarathoners have, the cooler they are, because not everybody can boast of having "run through the whole of Moldova".
In addition to the trophy, the winner of the Rubicon will receive a special board with a map of Moldova, where he can place all the conquered stages.
